GINMI Launches a 3-Year Livelihood Empowerment Initiative to Reach 10,000 Youth and Women Across Nigeria

A Call for Strategic Partnerships to Promote Sustainable Agriculture, Create Jobs, and Reduce Poverty

Giving to the Needies Mission International (GINMI) is launching an ambitious three-year Livelihood Empowerment Initiative designed to support 10,000 underserved youth and women across 12 states in Nigeria. Through sustainable agriculture, practical skills development, and improved access to markets, the initiative seeks to create pathways towards economic independence, employment, and stronger community resilience.

Investing in Agriculture. Empowering People. Transforming Communities.

Agriculture remains a vital source of livelihood and economic opportunity for many Nigerian communities. However, limited access to training, start-up capital, productive resources, and reliable markets can prevent young people and women from building sustainable agribusinesses.

GINMI's Livelihood Empowerment Initiative seeks to address these challenges by equipping beneficiaries with the knowledge, tools, and opportunities needed to participate more effectively in agricultural value chains.

The programme will focus on five key agricultural areas:

  • Cassava farming — supporting production and opportunities for value addition.
  • Rice farming — developing practical agricultural skills and market opportunities.
  • Maize farming — strengthening crop production and income-generating activities.
  • Poultry farming — promoting livestock-based enterprises and agribusiness development.
  • Fish farming — developing aquaculture skills and opportunities for sustainable food production.

A Practical Approach to Sustainable Livelihoods

The initiative is designed to go beyond training by connecting skills development with practical resources and economic opportunities. Its planned interventions include:

1. Practical agribusiness training: Providing relevant knowledge and hands-on training to help beneficiaries establish and manage sustainable agricultural enterprises.

2. Start-up tools and grants: Supporting eligible participants with appropriate equipment, productive resources, or financial assistance to help them begin or expand their agribusiness activities, subject to programme arrangements.

3. Market access and business linkages: Building connections with buyers, processors, distributors, cooperatives, and other value-chain participants to improve access to markets.

4. Employment and enterprise development: Encouraging the establishment and growth of agricultural businesses that can create work opportunities for beneficiaries and others within their communities.

5. Stronger household incomes and food security: Promoting productive activities that can contribute to improved livelihoods, increased food availability, and greater resilience to economic challenges.

Our Three-Year Impact Goals

GINMI aims to achieve the following outcomes through the initiative:

  • Reach 10,000 underserved youth and women across 12 states in Nigeria.
  • Create more than 20,000 direct and indirect jobs through agricultural enterprises and related value chains.
  • Support income growth and sustainable livelihood opportunities for participating households.
  • Strengthen local agricultural production and contribute to food security.
  • Encourage entrepreneurship, community participation, and long-term economic resilience.

These figures represent the initiative's intended targets. Their achievement will depend on implementation, available resources, effective partnerships, and the participation of beneficiaries and relevant stakeholders.

A Call for Partnership

Achieving these goals requires collaboration across the public, private, development, and community sectors. GINMI invites organisations and individuals who share this vision to partner with the mission in delivering sustainable livelihood opportunities to underserved communities.

We welcome collaboration with:

  • Government ministries, agencies, and local authorities.
  • International development partners and donor organisations.
  • Private-sector companies and corporate social responsibility programmes.
  • Non-governmental organisations and philanthropic foundations.
  • Agribusinesses, agricultural processors, and produce buyers.
  • Farmers' cooperatives and community-based organisations.
  • Financial institutions and agricultural finance providers.
  • Technical experts, trainers, and well-meaning individuals.

Partners can contribute through programme funding, technical expertise, agricultural inputs, training facilities, start-up support, market access, mentorship, monitoring and evaluation, or other forms of strategic collaboration.

Every contribution can help strengthen the programme's capacity to turn agricultural potential into practical livelihood opportunities.

Join Us in Building a More Resilient Future

At Giving to the Needies Mission International, we believe that sustainable empowerment means creating opportunities for people to develop their skills, build productive assets, and participate meaningfully in economic life.

Through this three-year initiative, GINMI seeks to help young people and women become active participants in agricultural development, enterprise creation, and community transformation.

We invite you to partner with us to empower 10,000 beneficiaries, work towards creating over 20,000 jobs, strengthen food security, and build stronger communities across Nigeria.

If your organisation or institution is interested in supporting this initiative, we encourage you to connect with Giving to the Needies Mission International to explore opportunities for collaboration.

Together, we can help reduce poverty, address unemployment, and create a future in which more people have the resources and opportunities to thrive.
